Syros, in the Cyclades, is an Aegean island to the South East of Athens and is easily accessed by ferry and hydrofoil services which run daily from Piraeus, Rafina and Lavrio. Ermoupoli, capital of the island (and the Cyclades) is a significant seaport. The town sits in a natural amphitheatre with neo classical buildings and white mansions rolling down to the sea. Ermoupolis is not first and foremost a tourist town - there are shipyards here - so you may discover something of the ‘real Greece’. For sightseers there is the Cathedral at Ano Syros, or a walk to the Holy Church of the Resurrection of Christ or you can simply sit at the Plateia Miaruli and watch the world go by. And of course there are no shortage of beaches! The best places to stay in Syros enable you to relax and savour this lovely island.
A charming little hotel perched on a hilltop above a small fishing village. Just four chic suites all in white with kitchenettes and stunning views. Lovely pool and sun deck area, a romantic spot in the evenings. Lots of beaches and attractions around. An ideal choice for a couple.
