Beef and cider are probably what spring first to mind when Hereford is mentioned, and for some folk that would be enough to guarantee an excellent break, but for the rest of you here are some of Hereford’s other charms:
Firstly the cathedral is very impressive, as is the marketplace, and Hereford also has a lovely abbey with views over the meandering river Dore.
Hereford also has several interesting little museums and galleries, and an eclectic town art gallery - it also hosts an annual county-wide art exhibition. And there’s a cider museum. There’s also a cider festival held in late spring/ early summer.
Many of the best places to stay in Hereford also have excellent restaurants, specialising in you know what, washed down with you know what!
