A sprawling traditional style village set on a sunny south facing ledge with superb views over the Grand Combin, Verbier is easily accessible by rail and road and is a great weekend ski destination, being a mere 2 hours from Geneva.
It is the hub of the huge Four Valleys ski area which encompasses La Tzoumaz, Nendaz, Veysonnaz, Thyon and Les Collons, and features some iconic runs including the infamous steep slopes of Mont Fort. However for those looking for a little less adrenalin filled fun, there is plenty to satisfy most intermediate tastes.
For hotels with easy access to the lifts look no further than the ever popular ski in ski out Mont Gele or the Chalet de Flore located on the Rue de Medran.

If you're looking to trying something different, the village has plenty on offer: 25km of marked hiking trails, snowshoeing and husky sledding to name but a few.
Plus of course there is the buzzing shopping scene with plenty of designer names and exclusive boutiques (try Depeche Mode on the Rue de Medran or La Datcha Concept Shop on Rue de la Poste), or delicious delis where you can stock up on the local cheeses and cured meats.
Apres ski and nightlife in Verbier are legendary! There is an endless choice of bars (The Farinet boasts a different live band every day in its apres ski bar), restaurants and nightclubs (The Casbah Club and Le Rouge cater more for the younger crowd or check out the Farm Club the place "to see and be seen" for the last 40 years) - the problem is being able to fit them all into one holiday!
If you want to be in the centre of the action have a look at the Central Hotel - a small gem of a property right on the main square, La Rotonde or the Vanessa with its newly decorated bedrooms full of faux suede and velvet!
