One of Amsterdam’s most charming small hotels is named after the seven bridges you can spy without moving from this lovely spot where the Reguliersgracht and Keizersgracht meet. Well-proportioned rooms have wooden floors generously scattered with Oriental rugs, handsome antiques and bags of character. There are no public rooms, so it’s breakfast in bed without a pang of guilt.

THEY SAY: Welcome to charm, sophistication and a beautiful ambiance inside and outside. Seven Bridges Hotel, a 300 year old, authentic canal house at the beautiful intersection of pictoresque Reguliersgracht-canal and majestic Keizersgracht-canal is set in a historic monument (a narrow, steep staircase, no elevator but air conditioning in all rooms, besides the "cool" rooms 3 and A) right in the heart of Amsterdam. Character and atmosphere are created by individually decorated stylish rooms: Oriental carpets on wooden or marble floors; handcrafted marquetry furniture - tables, beds, mirrors - by a Dutch artisan. Exquisite and elegant antiques from Baroque, Louis XV,Louis XVI, Empire, Biedermeier to Art Deco from Sotheby's, Christie's, Schloss Ahlden/Hannover (not simply antique-style-furnishings: "hotel antiques"). There are no public rooms besides the flower filled reception, where you can sit on an elegant Dutch Empire Marquetry Recamière from 1820. Breakfast is served in your room on fine china from Villeroy & Boch, Adams & Wedgwood, Gien/France.
