| The new kid on the block. This is the one you feel Elton John and David would choose if they were in Bath. Quite camp ('our philosophy is straightforward; if you don't have fun you don't have life'), lavish and comfortable but always with a slightly arch ring. Lots of mirrors. Six large double rooms with full-scale bathrooms (big showers). Trying very hard and winning lots of friends who like this 'private club with rooms'. Not for grannies. |

THEY SAY... The Residence is a new concept in accommodation for Bath. It brings together the exclusivity of a private members club and the service of a modern hotel within a large Georgian house near the city centre.
The house was built as Ormond Lodge in 1796 as part of a local estate. It remained a private home until 1955 and is reputed to be one of the homes of Haile Selassie during his exile in Britain during the Thirties.
It has recently been converted into a luxury Bed and Breakfast consisting of five bedrooms and one suite. Probably the best rooms in Bath.
Our aim is simple: to be the best home from home you ever had. Our style is relaxed but eager to please. We aren't like the big formal hotel with lists of do's and don'ts, because we think our guests are grown ups who have probably decided how to live their lives by now
