| This delightful 1903 Arts and Crafts house was built for an artist and incorporates a vaulted studio (where breakfast is taken) and a sitting room with oak and leaded-light screens and doors. Owner Paul Ridley is a charming, thoughtful host who makes his own bread and jams, with fruit and vegetables from the lovely garden. With just three bedrooms, Orchard House makes a special retreat: stylish, calm and modestly priced. |

THEY SAY: We offer stylish and superior bed and breakfast accommodation in a detached Arts and Crafts house. We are located a ten-minute walk from Oxford High Street, on a main bus-route into the city. Off-road parking is available, and guests enjoy the use of the large walled garden and comfortable sitting room.
At The Orchard House we offer two double rooms with en-suite shower rooms, and a twin/double room with neighbouring shower room. The bedrooms are smart and quietly luxurious. Each has a sofa, breakfast table, television, tea and coffee making facilities and hairdryer. The bathrooms are sleek and modern, with limestone floors and powerful showers. Breakfast is served in your room or in the original artist’s studio between 7.30 and 9.30am. Breakfasts use high quality, fresh ingredients, organic when available, and produce from the garden in season. Home made jam accompanies the freshly baked bread, and the coffee is freshly ground. A small selection of sweet and savoury accompaniments for tea or drinks is available, and we can, with notice, supply you with picnic lunches. Guests enjoy the use of a sitting room retaining its original Arts and Crafts interior and the secluded garden with its established shrubs, tree peonies and orchard fruit trees.
