| There are many elegant hotels in fine stone Cotswolds houses, but few hit the spot like this sophisticated restaurant-with-rooms. A lovely 1698 mansion in the village centre overlooking the river Windrush with its three stone bridges, its interior is both traditional and stylish, as well as warm and welcoming, with leather sofas and old portraits in intimate sitting rooms and chintz-free fabrics in lovely bedrooms. The food: delicious. |

THEY SAY: All rooms at The Dial House have been decorated individually by Jane Campbell-Howard, the owner. Attention to detail is absolutely paramount which is why we have spared no expense in choosing high quality wallpapers, fabrics, lighting and all the extra little things like cushions and throws for the beds. All rooms feature Molton Brown toiletries, tea/coffee making facilities, mineral water, sweets and fruit. There are deep baths with the four poster rooms, piles of warm fluffy towels and of course helpful room service - all part of The Dial House experience. Rooms 1 - 8 now have free wireless internet access and rooms 9 - 14 will follow shortly. We have travelled extensively to visit restaurants around the world to take bits and pieces from each and try to slowly create what we believe is an ideal restaurant. We are delighted to announce that as of May 2007 Jamie Forman has joined us as Head Chef. He comes to us from Cotswold House Hotel in Chipping Campden where he was Head Chef for two and a half years. He gained a rising star from the Michelin for the 2007 edition of the eponymous red guide as well as gaining a coveted 3 AA Rosettes. Our gorgeous sitting room is for the sole use of residents in the hotel and guests dining in the restaurant. When we planned the refurbishment our emphasis was, as always, on high quality fabrics and beautiful wallpapers. We feel it exudes the classic country house charm with a touch of modern elegance. It is equally charming and cosy at the height of summer as it is in the depths of winter when the fire is roaring away. Like the rest of the hotel a huge amount of care has been put into restoring the garden and making it an oasis to retreat to. We have renovated our old summer house on the top lawn. This is a perfect place to relax on a rainy day with hot cup of tea. It can also be booked for dinner for a very romantic occasion. Perfect privacy.
