| Of Cotswold hotels designed to appeal to the style conscious, this is our favourite, with intimacy as well as style. A lovely spiral staircase leads to rooms that are oases of contemporary pampering (choose from your 'bed menu'); others have hot tubs in private gardens. There are two restaurants, one formal, one a popular brasserie, and a lovely walled garden. |

THEY SAY: Since taking over Cotswold House Hotel in 1999, we have built on the traditions of this glorious Regency townhouse. Retaining the best of the character and architecture, we have revolutionised the accommodation, restaurants and service to make it one of the finest Cotswold hotels. Our philosophy? That a stay at Cotswold House should be a treat, with a warm welcome, extreme comfort and excellent food. Take a browse around all 30 of our very special rooms; find out about our chef, the Juliana's Restaurant and Hicks' Brasserie; stroll around the gardens; plan days out and places you can visit from a feast of options. And if we can help with any questions, we've answered those too. We've room sizes and styles to suit everyone from deluxe doubles to suites with gardens and hot tubs. With baths big enough to share, cashmere throws and fireplaces with coal effect fires, we're pretty sure we've thought of everything. Lie between Frette linen sheets on your enormous king-sized bed, made up just how you like it, and read the latest novel or magazine from your bookshelf. Watch a DVD on your state of the art television that you can rotate to the perfect viewing angle from your remote control. Take a long soak in a bath filled with your favourite bath oil and watch your bathroom TV. Keep in touch with the office via the free broadband connection in every room. There're canapés and ice for your drinks, whilst you prepare for dinner, and when you come to rest your head on your favourite type of pillow, drift away in peace and quiet with a waft of sleep spray to ensure the perfect night's sleep. In the morning, there's fresh coffee from your percolator, orange juice from your minibar and it's back to bed with the morning paper delivered to your door – a very civilised way to prepare for a hearty, traditional breakfast and a day's sightseeing in the Cotswolds.
