| A thoroughly civilised hotel housed in a wonderful, rambling 17th-century palazzo filled with beautiful antiques and pictures. The excellent restaurant occupies part of what was a Roman amphitheatre and there’s a charming hanging garden. |

THEY SAY: Arriving in Umbria means coming near to the roots of great art and the great Italian spirituality, into a nature full of surprises in every season. There is a residence full of history, umbrian traditions and fascination, named “L'Orto degli Angeli”. It is located in the historical center of Bevagna, a typical Umbrian village, marked in 2004 as Italy's most tranquil and pleasant to live in. Our “friends” come from all over the world and love a new kind of tourism ... here you can enjoy the warmth of a most beautiful village but also stay among the evidence of twenty centuries of history, including the restaurant Redibis, which serves excellent regional cuisine, and is in part of an ancient Roman Theatre, built in the 1st Century and miraculously intact. Bevagna has an extraordinary position in the centre of the region. All the pearls of Umbria, from the most celebrated to the most hidden, are literally to hand.... L'Orto degli Angeli is not simply a hotel, it is a very ancient family home having a warm homely atmosphere. The owners enjoy sharing their mansion with their guests and invite them to experience the way of life of a great Umbrian family surrounded by the beauty of an enchanting place.
