Aman Sveti Stefan Sveti Stefan, Montenegro

“An idyllic luxury village paradise on the tiny islet of Sveti Stefan. Superb private cottages renovated in country chic style with all the mod cons, private terraces with panoramic views, and some with pools. Three excellent restaurants, top of the range spa, and access to three beaches. Divine. ”

Photo of Aman Sveti Stefan

“Previously the haunt of Sophia Loren in the 1960s, the islet of Sveti Stefan has always been the fashionable bolt hole of the rich and famous. Newly renovated after its closure during the Milosevic years, the island has sprung back to life with the take over of Aman. It has the ambience of a luxury village with no evidence of fussy five star pomp or service, just perfect serenity. 58 boutique houses, or little private cottages, preserve the tradition of the past with their stone walls and modern wooden furnishings. Each has its own private terrace with panoramic views out to sea, some have a pool. Three restaurants on offer, beauty treatments, a spa and fitness centre, swimming pools dotted around, and then three beaches on the mainland (a 5 minute walk down the ramparts). For sightseeing you can feast on Tito's summer house, Cetinje, or monasteries. It's truly magnificent. ”
