Ames Hotel Boston, United States of America

“Cool, designer hotel in downtown. Rooms feature high ceiling, wooden floors and contemporary furniture in monochrome; marble bathrooms. Full gym at your disposal. Excellent menu in the grill restaurant-come-bar, with live entertainment most evenings. Chic, central and glamorous. ”

“If you assume the centre of Boston to be the Old State House (from where US independence was first publicly declared), or perhaps the Faneuil Hall, or the modern City Hall, then the Ames really couldn’t be more central being no more than 5 minutes walk from any of them. What’s more it’s on a 15 minute stroll from the waterfront and slap bang on the route of the Freedom Trail, Boston’s famous historical walkway. Housed in a truly magnificent early skyscraper, built in 1893, the Ames is a city landmark in itself, a grand American palazzo whose architectural swagger holds its own magnificently amongst the taller and more glittering towers of Boston’s contemporary commercial district. With rooms decorated with minimalist chic but containing all the comforts, the former office block has been and stylishly re-purposed as a cool contemporary downtown oasis, with a busy cocktail bar and an excellent restaurant offering a breakfast of champions. The concierge service is exceptional; these are guys that know and love everything about Boston and exude enthusiasm for this most history-rich of all US destinations. ”
