The attention to style is evident in the beautifully lit restaurant; the minimalist bedrooms, with freestanding hip baths; the rich colours and occasional guardian angels on the walls. There is a private dining room, an opulent library and intimate bars. The local staff are friendly and the imaginative English cuisine tastes as good as it looks.”
