“This pink-and-white villa, built in 1895 (while Leros was still under Turkish rule) sits in its own wooded grounds not far from Alinda, one of the island’s best beaches. There are six rooms and two suites, all of which are cool and airy, with wooden floors and prettily-painted panelled ceilings. The hotel was renovated in 2005-2006 (new beds with orthopaedic mattresses are among the innovations). Some rooms (the pleasantest) have balconies.”
They say
“Before its conversion into a hotel in the 1970s, the Angelou Mansion was the summer house of the family who vacationed on Leros island. Now a listed building, the traditional two-storied house, was built in 1895 near the beach of Alinda. Hidden in a spacious estate, it offers open views all around it, and maintains the atmosphere and serenity of times past.”
