“The ultimate in remoteness with simple but chic beach huts on stilts, featuring nautical colours and rooms with views. Close to long unspoilt strands of pink beach. Perfect for honeymooners, naturists, twitchers, hermits and watercolourists. A confident menu comes on a full board basis. ”

Hotel Overview

“Sometimes it’s worth going the extra mile. Set on the Northern shores of North Island, Barbuda North Beach is a 15 minute boat trip from the quay or airport at Codrington. It is in full view of the breaking reefs where the Caribbean Sea joins the Atlantic Ocean. Opposite is the Caribbean’s longest beach: 17 miles of pink sand and transparent water, which the locals call ‘The River’. The rooms are charmingly honest and have a seafaring weathered feel, decorated in breezy blue and white palettes with seashells and driftwood. Schools of stingrays and mullet flit in the translucent shallows. The excellent food is confidently served rather than off a menu. With just six private beach huts, the entire property only sleeps twelve so it is a wonderfully intimate affair and can be hired privately. Totally secluded there is no one for miles away (apart from Douglas the donkey)! An utterly liberating island experience. ”

See What They Say

“Why do people love staying in your hotel?
People love staying at North Beach because it is one of the very few remaining unspoilt locations in the Caribbean with complete privacy and offering excellent value. Moreover, there are only 4 cottages!

What is there to do in the area?
Fishing is amongst the very best in the Caribbean. The Frigate Bird Sanctuary is the largest outside the Galapagos Islands, and is only a short distance away. The pink sand beaches around the island are breathtaking.

What kind of breakfast do you offer?
We offer a hearty American style breakfast.

Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally?
We also offer light lunches and dinner in the evening. North Beach is in a remote setting, so there are no other restaurants in the neighbourhood.

Which are your most popular room types, and why?
Our 4 cottages are on stilts, and offer very spacious accommodation.

What facilities do you have for children and can you fit extra beds in your rooms ?
We have welcomed many young and older children to North Beach, who have adapted really well to a resort without the usual hi tech “gadgets”. We can fit an extra bed in the cottages, if required.

What message would you like to give Hotel Guru readers?
North Beach is a piece of “Paradise on Earth”, where you take a step back in time and enjoy the more rustic comforts in life.
Although it is remote, it is very secure!

As Reuben, the owner, often says: “There is nothing, but there is everything”.

North Beach caters for people from all walks of life - weddings, honeymoons, and private groups who want to have North Beach to themselves.

Finally, it is a very special place where one gets off the “roller coaster” of life!”

Barbuda, Caribbean beach paradise

A beautiful Caribbean island virtually untouched by tourism? It does exist, says our writer. It's Barbuda, and if you don't require entertainment, or much in the way of frills, it is perfect.
