“The compact spa alone is worth the trip to this 77-room Newmarket hotel. Its big, bubbly pool and luxury rest area look out over calming skies and spires, and lunch with champagne in the chic spa dining room feels deliciously decadent before a massage with ESPA products. The sprawling hotel boasts cosy, well-appointed rooms with luxe velvet headboards, wool throws and deco-style dark wood furniture. There’s no skimping, with Egyptian cotton sheets, thick duvets, Molton Brown bath products and Tea Pigs tea elevating the hotel experience. The dark and atmospheric Squires Restaurant offers an excellent Euro-twist on classic dishes like steak and fish and lists local suppliers on the menu. Bedford Lodge pays attention to detail and it shows in the experience and service. Head there for a race weekend or relaxation away from the London bustle.”
