“An intimate hideaway in the centre of Granada where yoga is king! At Casa Lucia, the emphasis is on wellness and they even throw in a yoga session with the nightly room rate. However there is much more to Casa Lucia than practising your lotus position or downward dog. There are three deluxe doubles and two suites, all individually designed and elegantly furnished (local craftsmen have been used to create original fixtures, flooring and decorative items) with calming colour schemes and all with access to the central courtyard and pool. Air conditioning is standard in all bedrooms, plus you'll find welcome bonuses of complimentary purified water and natural toileteries. Breakfast is a strictly organic affair with delicicous ingredients sourced from local small businesses. Owners Eloisa and Arantxa are passionate about not just yoga, but also about promoting all the other opportunities that abound in the surrounding area. To this end, they will happily recommend and arrange excursions from volcano walks, to kayaking to surfing lessons. Casa Lucia offers a perfect base for exploring this fascinating region, or is ideal for those who simply want to relax and improve their yoga skills!”

“Why do people love staying in your hotel?
We are a unique hideaway hotel and yoga wellness retreat offering complimentary morning yoga classes, organic breakfast and access to wellness services. At Casa Lucia you will feel very comfortable and very much at home with the care and attention to detail offered by a small boutique hotel. In addition, we can customize your holiday, designing an active adventure, a private yoga retreat, or an escape featuring total relaxation and rejuvenation.
Guests also love the peace and quiet of our location. While the hotel is located in the city center, we are surrounded on all sides by tropical plants and forest. From our roof deck you can birdwatch as the sunrises in the early morning, and catch a glimpse of the peaks of Volcano Mombacho on a clear day.
Casa Lucia has just 5 rooms - 3 deluxe queens and 2 king bed suites. Our rooms are minimalist and spacious in design and are all equipped with air conditioning and wi-fi, and a purified
Guests love relaxing on their private patio in the shade of the almond tree, or reading a booking on one of our many patios and terraces. At Casa Lucia you'll start your day with locally grown coffee or herbal tea brewed from mint and oregano from our herb garden. Enjoy a yoga class in our open air studio, followed by organic breakfast on the pool terrace.
What is there to do in the area?
Casa Lucia is located in the heart of Granada's historical district. We have a map you can use to enjoy a self guided tour of the major historical landmarks including the Bell Tower at La Merced Church, the Convento San Francisco, and many more churches and museums. Just 25 minutes from the hotel is an archipelago of 365 tiny islands called Las Isletas, which you can explore by kayak or motorized boat. You can view endemic plant and animal life, and even swim and relax on one of the islands. We also organize tours to Volcano Mombacho - a cloud forest and Volcano Masaya - an active volcano where you can view hot lava and nesting fruit bats. The crater lake known as Laguna Apoyo is the ideal place to swim, paddle board, enjoy lunch and relax just 20 minutes by car from Granada. This lake is the same water temperature year round and is beautiful cobalt blue color and ideal for swimming. We can organize expeditions further outside of Granada on the beaches to surf, paddle board, and to a nature reserve and coffee plantation. Nicaragua is known as the land of Lakes and Volcanoes and you should see at least one of these during your stay with us.
What kind of breakfast do you offer?
We offer an organic breakfast featuring organic eggs (harvested by a local charity) delivered fresh weekly, locally grown coffee, tropical fruit, home-baked chia and flat seed loaf, fresh tortillas, home-made herbal tea, tropical fruit jams. We have vegan (dairy-free) options available at request and can accommodate all types of diets including gluten-free.
Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally?
We do not have a restaurant in the hotel but we offer a small selection of snacks including a local snack-platter with farmer's cheese, olives, home-made jelly, roasted nuts, home-baked bread. We can make reservations at the best restaurants in the city center including Espressionista Restaurant featured in Conde Nast Travel (local and organic cuisine), Garden Cafe - casual, and El Tercer Ojo (The Third Eye) for international fusion cuisine.
Which are your most popular room types, and why?
Our King Bed Suites are the most popular rooms in the hotel and are set on the second floor overlooking the swimming pool. They are very privately situated and are ideal for honeymoons, yoga retreats etc. They are also spacious enough to include 3 persons who wish to share, or a small family (at select times of the year). The rooms are larger with walk-in closets, rainfall showers, organic soaps, and flat screen TVs. All rooms at the hotel have organic soap, air conditioning and wi-fi.
What facilities do you have for children and can you fit extra beds in your rooms ?
We accept children in the low season (May-October) only. From November-May 1 annually we are exclusively an adults only property. We can fit twin beds in our king bed suites for an extra adult or child. An infant crib is provided free of charge. In general Casa Lucia is a suitable property for adults ages 15 years and up.
