“A French wine estate in the Languedoc centred around a beautiful 19th century chateau with flexible self catering accommodation suiting couples and families, and a restaurant serving wonderful fresh produce when you don't want to cook for yourself. A classic recipe for a fabulous holiday. Château Les Carrasses is all that.
28 beautifully decorated suites, apartments and villas, many with wonderful views, private gardens and pools.
Sometimes after a busy day you just want to get back to your own space, get some cheese out, crack a decent bottle that you picked up at the market or at the caveau, and sit down and watch a movie; but if you've had a lazy day by the infinity pool dreaming of James Bond, you may fancy a little bit more service and a martini cocktail to boot. It is flexibility of this type of holiday that makes it so attractive to families and honeymooners alike. It’s not much bother knocking up a good meal in the kitchens of any of the properties at Les Carrasses. They are beautifully equipped. For evenings out, the restaurant has an unfussy, bistro-like quality, and the upper terrasse is the perfect place for a pre-dinner cocktail, with stunning views over the vineyards. The quality of the cooking is top class. The estate vineyard and wines are by Vignobles Bonfils and the wine selection is extensive. There is also a children's club, a lovely library in a divine orangery, tennis court, boules and a safe environment for children to roam. There are also bikes you can use to have a whizz through the myriad of country lanes....Bliss.”

“Why do people love staying in your hotel?
The blend of a luxury self-catering holiday with spacious houses, private pools and gardens and the facilities on site mean they can choose to cook in or go to the restaurant, have private time by their own pool or have the children meet other children at the main pool. It’s relaxed luxury at its best.
What is there to do in the area?
Heaps ! Barging on the Canal du midi - or cycling or walking along it, bikes provided; kayaking on the river Orb, beautiful Mediterranean beaches, hiking in the Languedoc National Park, ropes courses through the trees, historical buildings and visits, seafood restaurants, winery visits, horseriding, antiquing…
What kind of breakfast do you offer?
Either a cold buffet breakfast at 15€ or with hot options at 18€
Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally?
Yes, we offer lunch and dinner daily except for Tuesdays from November to April. We offer a full concierge service and there is a guest book in each house so you can see our recommendations and we can book them for you.
Which are your most popular room types, and why?
In summer the most popular are the Maisons de La Cave because they are South facing with private pools. Outside of the peak season couples love the Maison du Jardinier or the Chateau suites with terrace. They are like hotel rooms but at 35m2 they also have small kitchen / living / dining areas offering the best of self catering whilst staying in the original chateau building.
What facilities do you have for children and can you fit extra beds in your rooms ?
We offer cots and high chairs free of charge. A range of other items such as changing mats, sterilisers etc. is also available on demand. In summer our really popular kids club runs from early July to the end of August. We generally don’t offer extra beds because we have a range of 1 – 3 bedroom houses, some with sofa beds.
What message would you like to give Hotel Guru readers?
Château Les Carrasses is all about relaxed luxury, surrounded by vines and with wonderful views it’s a great place for a break from it all and can be as relaxing or active as you choose to make it.”
