Clarion Sign Stockholm (PO Box 310), Sweden

“A big middle-market hotel that delivers the goods with a strong Nordic flavour. A dramatic building with ultra-modern interiors - lots of glass, wooden floors, curvaceous chairs, white washed walls, and natural light. Fantastic roof top spa and swimming pool. Well run and well located.”

Photo of Clarion Sign

“The very antithesis of the boutique hotel, the Clarion Sign can house 1200 people in 558 rooms and often does. Busy, far from intimate, commercial. But what makes it special is the dramatic building by Gert Wingårdh (architect of the Swedish embassies in Washington and Berlin) and classic furniture by designers such as Arne Jacobsen and Alvar Aalto. The Aquavit Grill and Raw Bar is well regarded (Michelin listed) and on the roof is a spa and heated swimming pool. Very conveniently placed for stations, etc. Every city needs an excellent business hotel and this is it.”
