“Right at the heart of trendy SoHo’s creative hub is a hip hotel to suit. Styled by interiors guru Kit Kemp, the décor is a mix of English eclecticism and cosmopolitan luxury that’s the perfect backdrop for sipping cocktails and mixing with the sophisticated clientele – you may even spot James Bond with a martini in hand (Daniel Craig among others celebs frequent the hotel). But fear not – it’s got a charming fun-filled vibe and while you certainly get the bells-and-whistles service, it doesn’t take itself too seriously. With individual works of art in each of the 86 rooms, huge floor-to-ceiling Crittall-style windows and 360-degree views of the Manhattan skyline in the upper-floor suites, it’s a real treat to stay here. The icing on the cake is probably the private 99-seat cinema with Film Club on Sundays, costing from $35 for a cocktail, bar plate and movie.”
