“Stay here for a traditional Georgian country house feel complete with superb views over the Trent valley. B&B with a real family atmosphere, comfy beds and excellent breakfasts, home grown where possible. Relax inside or outside and plenty of activities in the area. It's also a unique place for your wedding, house party or business meeting. The rooms are intimate and cosy. The Hat bar provides light hearted fun and cocktails before dining on organic food, rustic in style with fresh produce sourced from the walled garden.”

“Why do people love staying in your hotel?
People love staying at the house because it is not a hotel... so no hustle and buzzle of normal hotels - they love to relax, read... it has stunning views and large open fires and has beautiful interiors with a sense of history... The house was built by a Reverend and has a calmness and ease that everyone comments on...
Perfect for those with friends in small parties, corporate business who want to have private conversations and for couples to get away for a weekend - often even people locally just come to get away for a night.
What is there to do in the area?
Nottinghamshire is becoming more and more a hub of activity, long walks along the ridge with panoramic views across the river. Bike rides, ballooning, sky diving, water skiing in the summer. Holme Pier Pont water sports centre is less than 10 minutes away and Nottingham 20 minutes. Historical town of Newark is a great love for those who enjoy antiques and history... Often guests in the summer just ask us for a picnic on the lawn and they play crochet.
What kind of breakfast do you offer?
My mother has been told her tomatoes and mushrooms are amazing!! Continental breakfast, Full English Breakfast , Fresh juices and early morning packed breakfasts for corporates who are travelling early. All produce is local, organic where possible and in season we have wonderful duck eggs from our rare breed ducks and chickens. We accommodate all types of diets.
Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally?
We do offer meals for over 6 people. Often guests visiting friends invite friends for dinner and they have the dinning room to themselves - this works very well. We have local pubs in the village, Tom Browns Award winning brasseries, Italian and the Bridge & Bayleaf - the best Indian in Nottinghamshire, so i hear... 10 minute walk along the river.
Which are your most popular room types, and why?
All rooms are individually designed and the most common comment we get is that the pillows and mattress are so comfortable people even ask us where we got them from... Our main Suite has a large bay window with views all down the valley - this is very popular with guests who are having a romantic weekend away or who have just got married. Emma's Suite is very popular as a double - it is fresh and relaxing with a bay window over looking the front garden...
What facilities do you have for children and can you fit extra beds in your rooms ?
Yes, we do offer support for parents with children and discounts for very young children.
