“Farlam Hall sits in the "undulating country" of the North East of England as a beautiful manor house with some parts of the building dating back to the 17th Century. "Covered in ivy and climbing vines" on the outside and awash with "elegant lounges" and individually styled rooms on the inside, it is a very English affair, full of class. Join the rest of the hotel guests for drinks and canapés in the drawing room before proceeding to dine in the restaurant that serves "consistently high standard food" - well worth a visit! ”
“Why do people love staying in your hotel?
We are a family owned and run hotel offering consistently high standards of fine food with attentive service from a team of local staff in a truly relaxed atmosphere. Large lounges with open fires give everyone the space they need to enjoy staying at Farlam.
What is there to do in the area ?
Hadrian’s Wall is obviously a big attraction and the nearest part is only about 4.5 miles away. There is plenty of walking, historic houses and gardens to visit, fishing, golf, shooting – both grouse and pheasant - and even Carlisle Airport for pleasure flights or lessons.
What kind of breakfast do you offer?
We offer a fully serviced English breakfast where you do not have to help yourself to anything.
Do you offer other meals? We serve dinner every evening. We are out in the Country so the only other places to eat locally tend to be Pubs.
Which are your most popular room types, and why?
All our rooms are different so people have favourites because of either size, colour, and position.
What message would you like to give Hotel Guru readers?
As a family we have owned and run Farlam Hall for nearly 39 years and we still enjoy meeting and looking after our guests. We hope you will come to Farlam, relax and enjoy your time with us.”
