“Rolltop baths, fashionable colours and a few well chosen antiques shift this village pub up-market. Downstairs, the busy bar serves real ales and good pub food (and may be busy long past your bedtime. Light sleepers beware.) The restaurant aims high, providing sophisticated dishes in generous country quantities. The cooked breakfast is highly recommended, but some visitors have grumbled about the restaurant prices. If you are lucky enough to hit upon an English summer, there is a walled garden to drink in.”
