Hotel Infante Sagres Porto, Portugal

“A little jewel of a hotel brimming with tasteful opulence- think stained glass stairwells, carved wooden lifts and oil paintings. Cosy bedrooms with original antiques and modern art, Cambodian inspired spa, and a lovely restaurant with summer time terrace. Ideally placed to explore the city.”

“Walk into the gleaming lobby of this beautiful hotel and you will experience the sense of calm that pervades a well-run hotel. Stained glass stairwells, carved wooden lifts and oil paintings give it a private English country house accent. The 70 bedrooms are small but ultra cosy and decorated with original antiques and an impressive range of modern art. The Angkor Wat Spa Room downstairs has a superb range of treatments from Tibetan Bowls Therapy, to Reflexology, Shiatsu or Ayurvedic massages. The restaurant, Boca do Lobo, spills out on to the terrace in summer and offers excellent modern Portuguese cuisine (lasagne of grilled Octopus with corn bread crust and garlic oil) with a wine list which draws on the delights of the Douro valley.”
