Hotel Nomade Istanbul (Ticarethane Sokak 15,), Turkey

“Recently renovated in modern Turkish design and an unbeatable location. Superb rooftop bar-terrace where fantastic sea views can be enjoyed. Well designed uncluttered rooms with wall-hung killim rugs and traditional colours. An excellent base for exploring and reasonable rates too.”

Photo of Hotel Nomade

“The Hotel Nomade was one of the pioneer small-but-stylish hotels in the Sultanahmet district in the mid-1980s. It has recently been renovated, and its smallish but well-designed, uncluttered rooms are graced by wall-hung kilim rugs which combine traditional colours with modern designs. All rooms have individually controlled air conditioning and en suite shower and WC. Arguably the biggest selling point is the rooftop bar-terrace, with its blue canvas umbrellas and great views over the rooftops, domes and minarets of Sultanahmet to the sea.”
