Hotel Overview

“Hosts Silvia and Heribert Dietrict worked first at the Walserhof twenty years ago, and have now taken over as managers from the renowned Chef Armin Amrein. They have embraced this charming and yet unfussy hotel, and renovated the rooms with luxurious bathrooms. There’s a small reception area with a fire, no bar, but drinks are sent up to guest’s suites. Rustic-chic bedrooms are very comfortable with natural fabrics mixed with restful colours: soft greens, beige, pinks, slate grey. Smart bathrooms, luxurious towels, crisp linen, soft puffy pillows and superbly comfortable Tréca beds. There are kitchenettes where you'll find a small selection of divine homemade chocolates and cakes to welcome guests. Although on the main road, the bedrooms are quietly situated at the back with balconies, over looking Alpine meadows. Personal touches include ironing, shoe cleaning and a sewing service. If guests have forgotten their glasses, there is a supply kept at the reception. Facilities are limited but the accent is on the cuisine, the restaurant has one Michelin star and 15 Gault Millau Points. It comes as no surprise that Prince Charles is a regular guest at the Walserhof. The wine cellar contains over 670 bottles, with the focus on the Bünder origin. Dinner is the main event, the rustic wood panelled dining room is enchanting with huge vases of flowers, perfectly laid tables, and the delightful Lisele makes sure everything flows. Each dish is prettier than the last and beautifully presented. And you must allow room and time for the magnificent breakfast. Don’t expect to make the first cable car, as breakfast needs to be savoured and digested. Heaven.”
