Hotel Review
The top-rated sustainable hotel in Denver, Downtown favourite Kimpton Hotel Monaco already had us at ‘wine hour’, serving a complimentary drink in their lobby lounge daily from 5-6pm. Perfect for fortifying oneself to explore the area’s myriad restaurants and bars, with suggestions from the notably friendly ‘ask-us-anything’-style team.
The 189 rooms come in rich mineral hues and bold metallics, peppered with modern original artworks by local makers for some authentic Denver cool. The hotel prides itself on ‘touches of the unexpected’ - open the closet to find a yoga mat, and seek out gourmet treats in the mini bar. Our favourite feature is the Kimpton Plant Pals programme; ask and you will receive some greenery to keep you company during your stay.
When you do make your way downstairs, it’s worth stopping at North Italian restaurant Panzano, hailed ‘Best Italian Restaurant’ by esteemed local dining and events guide Westword. They buy local, organic, and sustainable whenever possible and you can really taste it.
