Kizingo Kenya (Lamu)

“Relax and chill out in this sandy, barefoot hideaway. Palm-thatched spacious bandas with sea views with romantic king-sized beds and private verandahs. The perfect beach retreat with a range of exciting activities - dolphin watching, snorkelling, fishing, sailing and body surfing.”

Photo of Kizingo

“Kizingo is a perfect hideaway, set in dunes on a long sandy beach. Each of the eight palm-thatched spacious bandas has sea views, romantic king-sized beds and a verandah for relaxing. Owner managed and operated by Kenya born Mary-Jo and her husband Louis Van Aardt, the lodge offers a wide range of activities depending on the season - dolphin watching, snorkelling, fishing, sailing and body surfing. But Kizingo's enduring appeal is to encourage its guests to relax and take life easy.”

They say

“Kizingo is the ultimate 'no news, no shoes’ beach resort - a wonderful secluded and tranquil escape from the modern world. The lodge is situated at one end of a spectacular 12-kilometre beach that stretches from Kizingo (which means 'the point’ in Swahili) to the fashionable village of Shela. Kizingo has eight beautifully appointed bandas (thatched cottages), set well apart from each other. In the early morning you can enjoy tea in bed and watch fishing dhows tack south to Malindi.”
