“Built using stones from Signy's ruined abbey La Petite Abbaye is all white walls, parquet floors, exposed beams and masonry and white linen. Breakfast is lavish, comprising cold cuts (Ardennes ham, naturally), freshly-squeezed juices, warm croissants, fruit, muesli and cereals, served in a tranquil, airy ground-floor salon that doubles as a peaceful sitting room and library. Upstairs, three spacious double rooms and the family suite share a large bathroom with walk-in shower and separate toilet, while the prettiest double room has its own shower and WC. As well as little in-room treats like kettle and coffee-maker and a tray of coffees, teas, tisanes and biscuits, La Petite Abbaye provides amenities that you'd expect in a posh city hotel – such as bathroom slippers, fancy toiletries and bathrobes – but come as welcome surprise here. Out back, in a leafy courtyard, there's a barbecue (you can buy the makings from Plat Didier, a minute's walk away) and a ping-pong table.”

“Why do people love staying in your hotel?
It's a peacefull place, full of history because the house is built with the stones of former's abbeys. Moreover, I really care about my guests, I want that they feel like home.
And last but not least, my B&B is well placed, in the heart of Europe, in real nature and you have a restaurant just across the street.
What is there to do in the area?
There are a lot of things to do : hiking, castles (i.e. Sedan fortified Castle is the biggest in Europe), sports in the trees, Champagne...
What kind of breakfast do you offer?
I offer a complete and diverse breakfast in which you can have almost everything : meats, juices, eggs, coffee, tea, milk, jam (home cooked), cereals, breads, croissants...
Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally?
No, i don't offer other meals because my friend runs a restaurant just across the street.
Which are your most popular room types, and why?
All my room's are popular because you will find original and historical stones, floors, fireplaces... Some bedrooms have a common bathroom and some people don't understand why there isn't a private bathroom in each room because they don't understand the spirit of this house. Therefore, the bedroom with its own bathroom (Chambre double luxe avec douche « Rêve d’églantine »
) is almost always booked. The family bedroom is also famous because it's in fact 2 bedrooms that allow parents to keep their children in a safe place while maintening their own privacy
What facilities do you have for children and can you fit extra beds in your rooms ?
Yes I can offer extra beds but guests must ask before booking.
What message would you like to give Hotel Guru readers?
If you want to have a really idea of french history and hospitality, this is the good place to be. But if you want to be alone, without sharing with others, you have better to book in a classical hotel.”
