“Langford Fivehead is a 15th-century manor house set in seven acres of landscaped gardens in the Somerset Levels. The property comprises six beautiful bedrooms each named after a historical person or date with which the house is associated. The feel is opulent and luxurious but there are nods to the history of the place everywhere: ancient fireplaces featuring the name of a previous owner chiselled into the mantle, original flagstone halls and lintels bearing centuries old graffiti. The Langford restaurant offers a gourmet three course prix fixe menu which changes on a daily basis. The ethos here is that the distance from farm to plate should be as short as possible and menus are constructed around what is fresh and available on any given day - much of the the fruit and vegetables are grown on site. This is an ideal place to come for total chill out; you can explore the fascinating local countryside - or perhaps just lose yourself in the glorious gardens or curl up in front of the fire with a good book! ”

"The grand, E-shaped building is surrounded by emerald parkland and fir trees; inside, the mood is uncluttered and elegant, with quiet florals and checks that allow the flagstones, mullioned windows and elmwood panelling to take centre-stage."
