“The Sierra de Aracena is a favourite place to escape from the heat of the summer in Sevilla, with its rugged mountains cloaked in a cooling forest of oak and chestnut. The six pretty cottages are built of local stone and overlook the river Alajar. It’s all self-catering; you can pick fruit and vegetables from the garden and orchard, or food can be ordered in from a local restaurant. Rates are based on a minimum stay of two nights. Walking in the area is fantastic as is the ham.”
