Mount Haven West Cornwall

“Soothing contemporary haven overlooking St Michael’s Mount. Modern and simple rooms with large glass doors leading onto balconies. The best have sea views. An excellent restaurant using the fresh local produce. A lovely spot for a romantic getaway.”

Photo of Mount Haven

“It is a haven. And it overlooks, memorably and spectacularly, a mount: St Michael’s Mount, to be precise, rising majestically from the bay, best enjoyed from the hotel’s sleek terrace. Owners Mike and Orange have created a truly calming place, where Eastern silks, artefacts and furniture combine with modern comforts. Rooms aren’t particularly large, but they are airy and fresh, as is the mirrored, white walled, wooden floored dining room where the food is just right, with the emphasis on local produce (such as Newlyn crab), simplicity and taste. Spoiling, but affordable, with great views.”

They say

“With unrivalled sea views to St Michael's Mount and across the bay towards Penzance the Mount Haven Hotel and Restaurant has a deserved reputation for its informal, relaxed atmosphere. It's a world away from the hustle and bustle of modern living, an oasis of peace and tranquillity with touches of luxury to make your visit special. CNN named us one of the world's Top Nine Secret Hotels last year which we are naturally thrilled about. We also have a team of very talented therapists on call for serious holistic treatments and often life-changing benefits.

This boutique hotel is ideal for a romantic break and as a base to explore this beautiful part of West Cornwall by car or for walking the South West Coast Path that passes close by. The terrace, gardens and most bedrooms all share the iconic vista of St Michael's Mount which provides the unique and breathtaking backdrop to your stay at Mount Haven. The superior rooms offer the opportunity to lie in bed gazing through the glass and the private balconies across the sea to the Mount.

The Restaurant at Mount Haven uses fine local and seasonal ingredients from around Cornwall to produce simple and tasty meals every day. For lunch or dinner the menu offers a range of dishes from award winning chefs, one of only a small number of Cornwall’s hotels to have gained 2 AA Rosettes for its food.

Throughout the hotel the furnishing and decoration creates a calm, relaxed atmosphere using an inspired fusion of Eastern culture and Western comfort. Along with its reputation for relaxation, food and views, mount haven is renowned for its talented team of holistic therapists who cover a wide range of treatments for mind, body and spirit - all the profits from which go to support a group of street children in south India, giving them a safe and loving home.
Every bedroom is furnished with sumptuous fabrics, exotic art, fine Italian linen, luxury mattresses, en-suite bathrooms with complimentary hand-made organic toiletries. Many rooms have their own private garden terrace or balcony, and most have fantastic sea views of Mounts Bay and Cornwall’s most famous landmark St Michaels Mount.
Mount Haven is ideally placed in Marazion on Cornwall’s South coast, making it easy for day trips to St. Ives, Falmouth, the Minack Theatre and Land’s End at your own pace. The hotel is only a few minutes from the heliport in Penzance making it a perfect place to stay before or after a trip to the magical Isles of Scilly.

We also have a large on-site car park which makes life a lot simpler when in Cornwall.”
