Photo of Mykonos Theoxenia

“In their design, a great many hotels on Mykonos (and elsewhere in Greece) flaunt their Cycladic influences, with omnipresent white plaster and blue woodwork. The Mykonos Theoxenia makes a welcome change. Built in the 1960s as one of a state-owned chain that has since been privatised, its architecture was daring at the time and still impresses, with proportions that echo ancient stoas and temples rather than village houses. Inside the low-rise stone buildings, the design influences in public areas and bedrooms are unashamedly 1960s-nostalgic.”
