“Delightful small rural hideaway run by the inimitable Frank McClintock and his Austrian wife Daniela. With just 12 rooms, guests are encouraged to eat together with magnificent views over the lake, palm trees and bougainvillea tumbling down to the water. All inclusive activities include canoeing, sailing and sauna, plus wifi for those who can't leave home behind. Great for unwinding, eating well and generally chilling out. Magnificent scenery, walks, and birds for twitchers.”

“Once upon a time a fairy tale came true ... Frank fell in love with this area when a young man, sold everything he had and returned to build his dream; 25 years later it's the dream of others to spend some time away from the rat race enjoying the peace and quiet of the retreat he built and the cooking of his delicious wife Daniela - or should that be the other way around?
It's easy to see why the Quinta was awarded a Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence in 2010.
Simple but comfortable rooms look out over the garden across the wonderfully warm and clean Santa Clara Lake - one of the largest and cleanest in Europe. Boats are included in your stay as is the sauna, daily cleaning, wifi and of course a great breakfast. Most meals are eaten in a friendly family atmosphere where Daniela's cooking is unpretentious but full of flair with many ingredients coming from the Quinta's own gardens.
Don't come here if you want fairy lights in your food and an empty feeling at the end of any meal, but if you want to really soak up some peace and quiet in one of Europe's forgotten corners with friendly, attentive and informal service with good food, excellent wine and a view to die for - well, look no further!
Oh yes, Frank's a professional Nature and Birdwatching Guide for those who might be interested.”
