The Connaught Hotel London (Mayfair)

“The discreet and understated ‘grande dame’ of Mayfair. This hotel is the epitome of old world Britishness meets contemporary elegance and design. Impeccable service from the fleet of butlers, the ultimate in traditional comforts. Chic restaurants and bars match the world class Aman spa. A must stay.”

Photo of The Connaught Hotel

“This bastion of Britishness has been recently satisfactorily revamped without losing its impeccable service. The magnificent mahogany staircase sweeps up to lighter and sexier rooms and dazzling white marble bathrooms with Art Deco chrome livery. There’s a curving new conservatory for breakfast and tea while the two new bars are filled at night with the chattering classes – very different from the crusty cigar smoke-filled boltholes of old. The subtly modernised restaurant is now in the hands of imaginative French chef Helene Darroze.”
