“This handsome, quirky mansion/farmhouse was an uninhabited wreck when Neil and his partner Zoe took on the challenge of restoring it, opening it nine months later as a 12 room hotel and restaurant, in time for the cast of Harry Potter to stay. It¹s been done quite beautifully; there are two main facades: one three storeys¹ tall, gleaming white and many windowed; the other gabled with Arts and Crafts elements that are continued inside. The bedrooms are perfect in every way and there are further bedrooms in an adjoining cottage and 15th century longhouse and four self catering cottages overlooking the Preseli hills, popular with families; self-catering guests are encouraged to help themselves from the burgeoning vegetable garden beside them. Back in the main house, there is a cosy library with books, games and a light-filled room for an elegant inventive breakfasts. The food is really excellent, with head chef Duncan Barham plainly gunning for well deserved recognition.”
