“Rural restaurant with rooms in an idyllic riverside location with "secret garden" and wildlife galore including kingfishers and heron. Pretty country rooms some of which feature lovely views over the river. Modern British cuisine and a snug bar. Ideally placed on the edge of the New Forest.”

Hotel Review

Charmingly positioned on a river, The Mill has been lovingly refurbished, with eight individually decorated rooms plus the Mill House with four rooms, excellent, locally sourced and mostly organic food and a friendly atmosphere. In fine weather you can sit outside by the river and enjoy the lovely rambling garden. The Mill’s eco-credentials are firmly in place with the heat-exchange unit in the river and plans to get the mill’s wheel working to generate electricity. Plus kingfishers, herons, peace and quiet.

The Cool Hotel Guide

"A terrace runs alongside the trickling Avon Water, surrounded by weeping willows, banks of reeds and clumps of exotic gunnera plants. Roses and lavender are planted next to a neatly mown croquet lawn near by, beyond which is a “secret garden” with a koi pond with lilies and a series of abstract sculptures."

It's not run of the mill

"A former water mill, it's surrounded by lawns and woodland, and crisscrossed by weirs, rivulets, mill ponds and ornamental bridges."
