“A famous old coaching inn (1400) in a classic medieval town, with 45 ancient rooms done up in 20th century luxury style. Touristy but an experience.”

Hotel Overview

“Rooms have been renovated many times over the years and the latest provides all the comfort modern guests expect. However, furnishings are unadventurous, and the hotel is popular with tourists from London, but for an experience, this hotel is worth considering. The rooms are ancient, low ceilinged and beamed, with wiggly walls and floors in some cases, and the cosy bars and restaurants are historic - Spitfire pilots used to drink here during the Battle of Britain. The medieval town of Lavenham is picturesque - again, packed in summer, but still picture perfect.”
