“The owners of this alternative B&B are very keen on winning heat from the sub-soil and finding food in the hedgerows. Tracey practises reflexology and specialist therapies. But because she and Alex are so sensible and have both been trained in the hospitality industry, their ‘greenery’ just provides a gentle background to a happy, well-run home that will appeal particularly to families. (The owners have two young sons; ducks and hens too). The simple decoration of the rooms is offset by chic modern bathrooms and pale oak joinery. They also have a sauna. The garden is work-in-progress, but a lovely wooden summerhouse provides privacy - or a place to stash teenagers. Locally sourced produce goes into meals of the highest quality and wines are chosen with real expertise.”
