Victoria Hotel Malta (Sliema), Malta

“Malta’s equivalent to a Pall Mall gentleman’s club set in the 19th century. Traditional elegance - grand pianos, open fireplaces, leather chairs, gilded mirrors, mahogany furniture, and antique paintings. A luxurious spa, rooftop terrace with pool and leisurely restaurant. For business and pleasure.”

“Set back from the usual chaos of Sliema’s bustling centre is the Victoria Hotel, which certainly lives up to its name. As you walk into the building, you experience the aged refinement of what could have been a 19th-century gentleman’s club, albeit with a Maltese twist. Any man could make himself at home in the lounge, with its baby grand piano, open fireplace and sumptuous leather chairs: if only you could still smoke a pipe or cigar indoors. It’s not all for the men however – the luxurious spa facilities are hard to beat with fresh water indoor and outdoor pools; a sun terrace; saunas; steam room and treatments galore. Before heading off to bed in either a luxury suite laden with traditional Victoriana or a slightly more feminine ‘blue room’, take a seat in The Copperfield’s Restaurant, complete with gilded mirror, carved mahogany, grand light fittings and antique paintings for a sense of very un-Dickensian luxury.”

They say

“Why do people love staying in your hotel? In our opinion, the fact that the Victoria’s décor is classical, it features that warm ambiance and like home to home feeling.

What is there to do in the area? Due to the fact that it is situated in a central position and in a very well sought area, one can enjoy all sorts of activities, ranging from a stroll on the promenade to extreme water sports particularly during the summer period. It is good to note that Sliema being the number one tourist area does not offer any historical sites.

What kind of breakfast do you offer? An Enriched English Buffet Breakfast

Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally? We do offer a variety of both buffet and a la carte including Mediterranean and local cuisine.

Which are your most popular room types, and why? Superiors room since they are a good value for money and particularly top floor rooms which are located on the East wing of the hotel, enjoy a distant sea view.

What message would you like to give Hotel Guru readers? If you feel the need to be treated with warmth and personal attention, do not hesitate to book your next holiday at the Victoria Hotel.”
