“Hidden in the Pefki valley inland from Makriyialos, this collection of former shepherd cottages with whitewashed walls, stone-flagged floors and low wooden ceilings is cool, airy and comfortable. Each has one or two bedrooms and a basic kitchen with a fridge and mini cooker (but the tavernas of Makriyialos provide an alternative to self-catering). The pretty pool is a bonus. Attractions include Shiatsu massage, local boat trips and gorge walking.”
