“The Wooden Cabbage (the local name for the locally stunted oak trees) is an enlarged keeper¹s cottage with a sweeping, showstopping view of Hardy Country. There are housemartins under the eaves, the airy house is stylishly decorated with family antiques, Martyn Lee¹s vegetable garden is a marvel and his wife Susie makes use of the produce for her delicious breakfasts and dinners on request. The Lees are warm and calm but never intrusive; having previously run two successful inns they bring a perfect combination of professionalism and homeliness to their operation.”
