| Tafika Camp is run by its owners John and Carol Coppinger and it offers some of the best guiding to be found in Africa; and certainly in the Luangwa valley. With only six rooms made from reed and thatch (complete with open air showers and solar-powered lanterns) the camp epitomises what the Luangwa is fabulous for: small, intimate bush camps focused on walking safari. The owner takes clients microlighting meaning Tafika can offer a view of Luangwa no one else can! |

To book this hotel:
This offers a rustic but luxurious experience in the bush, hidden under the canopies of the Giant Leadwood trees on the banks of the Luangwa River, It sits just outside the Nsefu Sector of the South Luangwa National Park and is a 10 minute flight from Mfuwe airport. Tafika’s rooms are hand built using local materials, the beds are made of mapeti and mopane wood and the chalets themselves are constructed from golden reed and thatch. All 6 rooms have en-suite bathrooms, open-air showers and covered verandas. One chalet has two bedrooms, ideal for a family and the honeymoon chalet has a double shower and private hammock. The relaxed and friendly, family atmosphere is down to the creators, John and Carol Coppinger, who live here with their two children, Christine and Jenny. The emphasis at the remote Tafika is on personalised attention, comfort, flexibility and excellent cuisine.
