The 7 Best Hotels in The City of London

Andaz Liverpool Street

Historically The City of London refers to a very particular area, one which was surrounded by the city’s ancient Roman wall - you can’t see much of the Roman walls today but they do have a surviving slice outside the Museum of London, and one close to the Tower of London. But these days, and for the purpose of our Guru’s recommendations for 7 the best hotels in the City of London, we’ve pushed the boundaries out a bit to include the best hotels by Liverpool Street, the best hotels in Barbican and the very bottom edge of Clerkenwell.

The City isn’t as popular with visitors as some of the other areas of London, it's still a centre of finance and a lot busier during the week. But it does house St. Paul’s Cathedral within its boundaries, and The Barbican Centre, Smithfield Market and the Bank of England and the Stock Exchange. There’s shopping, and plenty of places to eat and drink, and you’re just across the river from the cultural gems on offer on the South Bank. So opting for one of our 7 best hotels in The City of London puts you right in the thick of things, and some of our recommendations for the best hotels in The City of London offer really great value.
