Hotel Review
Fabrice and Alison Bouteloup’s stylish restaurant-with-rooms is situated directly on the main road in the small conservation village of Muthill. The former coaching inn is abundant in rusticity; low beamed ceilings, exposed stonework, worn wooden floors and a flaming wood-burning stove fill the space. Any of the six cosy bedrooms is pleasant to retire to after a sumptuous meal. Fabrice has a Michelin-star pedigree from his time at Putney Bridge in London and was head chef at Atrium in Edinburgh. His experience shows in the moreish food prepared with skill and passion. All in all, Barley Bree is an epicurean delight.
