“Fort-turned-luxury hotel off the South coast with views of Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight. Intimate and unusual, the fort has been successfully converted and is the closest thing to being at sea – except you’re not.”

Hotel Review

Far from your average hotel, a stay at Spitbank Fort is an experience – and a luxury one at that. From the moment the boat leaves Gunwharf Quays until it drops you back 22 hours later, friendly staff work tirelessly to provide a memorable experience. Once 'aboard', a tour provides a fascinating insight into the fort and its eclectic collection of objects. The eight bedrooms are comfortable and luxuriously fitted out, with the crow’s nest bar (complete with terrific views and telescope) doubling up as a ninth bedroom when the fort is hired exclusively. From the red and white striped lighthouse, the hot tub and fire pit on the fort's rooftop, to the games rooms and wine bar in depths of the fort, there's plenty to explore. Tea and cake are served in a comfy bar area and the dining room is housed in the former officers' mess.
