“Delhi's trendiest new hotel, conveniently located right by the airport. Embracing the city and its location, the best rooms look out directly onto the runway. With arguably one of the tastiest breakfasts in town on offer, a pool, spa and achingly cool interiors this hotel is not to be missed.”

Hotel Review

Officially opening January 2017 Andaz is the answer to all your overnight transit woes. Andaz, meaning "style" in Hindi provides just that: boutique style accommodation it has a personable touch. As you pull up to the driveway (in your classic Ambassador taxi) it is clear this is not going to be your usual stuffy stay. Hotel staff are dressed in trendy prints and even the guards are head to toe in denim. Lounge music plays in the cavernous, glass ceilinged lobby where there is a well stocked library, and guests can help themselves to tea, coffee, snack and even a G&T or three at the self-service Juniper bar. Artwork by local legend Rajiv Sethi (you’ll see some of his works in the international terminal) adorns the walls and more whilst stunning interiors are courtesy of London interior design company JNK, although all locally sourced. The same goes for much of the produce at the exemplary restaurant (Anamaya) which serves some innovative dishes - aloe vera on toast anyone? Less experimental is the freshly made burrata, sustainably sourced kingfish, freshly baked cakes and cold pressed juices. All delicious. Upstairs the rooms are chic and clutter free and far larger than your average entry-level category. Opt for a runway facing room for views of the airplane hangers (in case you forget just where you are). Suites include a bath and coffee machine, whilst all rooms include delightful miniature Clive Road tea sets and Kronokare toiletries as well as a complimentary minibar. Far superior to the usual in-room promotional reading material get stuck in to Fiona Caulfield’s ‘401 Reasons to Love Delhi’ a comprehensive guide if ever there were one. In short, the anti-airport hotel.

Sneak peek: Andaz Delhi

Walk into the Andaz 5th Avenue in Manhattan, and you’ll find no lobby or reception—just a cheery space full of young, chic 20-somethings who offer you coffee first, then whip out their iPads to check you in, as if it’s an afterthought. Welcome to the future of hospitality. The Andaz, which belongs to the Hyatt Group, caters to a distinctly cool, young set, who care more about free Wi-Fi and healthy room-service options than they do about white-gloved butler service. At the recently launched property in New Delhi, too, the keyword is casual. Spaces flow seamlessly into each other: the entrance into a bar into a European foodhall. Staff don’t wear turbans or saris; they’re kitted out in a variety of designs by Indo–French fashion brand Lecoanet Hemant, created at their Gurgaon atelier.
