Hotel Review

Larger than some of south Goa’s villages, the Grand Hyatt has everything you might want for under one roof. Behind its terracotta hung tiles and pastel, colonial façade bedrooms are excellently sized and somewhat masculine in décor. Dark woods blend seamlessly with cream tones and marble bathrooms. Each room has a bath and a private balcony. The best boast sea views and their own private Jacuzzi. Choose from a total of seven restaurants, whatever takes your appetite. The Verandah rustles up fresh Italian flavours (and has the best seat in the house for sunset), whilst Capiz Bar is the perfect spot for an evening tipple. Indian flavours and traditional South Indian seafood preparations can be found at Chulha, whilst coffee and pastries are served in the Bay View Lounge throughout the day. A buffet and a la carte breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at The Dining Room. Excellent care is taken for special diets and there are lots of healthy options available. Which is clearly something that Jaco Le Roux, The Grand Hyatt’s general manager takes very seriously. They have invested a lot of money in a state of the art gym, and offer daily morning and sunset yoga classes, included in the rate. There is also a solarium, steam room and sauna, and indoor and outdoor pools. The award-winning spa is superlative, specialising in traditional Ayurvedic treatments. All this plus your own private stretch of beach, plenty of children’s activities, and an on-site casino, not to mention the water sports academy. There is no excuse for boredom at Grand Hyatt, Goa.
