Chic, comfortable and reminiscent of a French chateaux, this boutique five-star hotel is a charming bolthole for a city stay. Its location on Beirut’s corniche means guests are treated to spectacular vistas of the Mediterranean, as well as easy walking access to some of the city’s most beloved beach clubs. The genteel rooms are classically decorated with striped wallpaper, pastoral watercolours hanging on the walls in gold frames and marble bathrooms. Breakfast is served every morning at Sydney’s, the top floor bar and restaurant with a striking glass wall overlooking the sea. Stop by at any time for exceptional food, from fresh fish tacos and juicy steaks to an English-style afternoon tea. As the day wears on, whiskey connoisseurs settle into the lounge’s leather chairs, cigar in hand, to enjoy an international selection of imported malt whiskies and cognacs.
