Hotel Review

For the discerning traveller or for a special celebration, Temple House, just 12 kilometres south of Sligo, is a unique place to stay and should hit the spot. Roderick and Helena Perceval run their historic family mansion as a luxurious bed and breakfast or as an exclusive use venue, and offer their guests a taste of grand Irish hospitality. Entry to the house is through a magnificent hall with beautiful 19th century tiled floor. Sleeping accommodation is in grand, comfortable en suite bedrooms, plus guests are welcome to wander through various other spacious public rooms filled with antiques and artworks. The walls of the stately dining room where breakfast is served (or dinner if you book in advance) are crammed with family portraits dating back 350 years (and the charming hosts are more than happy to regale you with its history). The grounds offer miles of beautiful walks through mature woods and parkland, and there's a private lake for those who want to fish, or simply idle a few hours away in a boat. Temple House is ideally situated to visit the megalithic sites around Sligo, Yeats country and Lissadell House. Also within easy reach are the famous golf courses of Rosses Point, Strandhill and Enniscrone, with its famous seaweed bathhouse. A gorgeous country escape, for complete relaxation.
