Hotel Review

A comfortable and spacious B & B in a pretty Georgian House just on the edge of the village of Hadleigh near Ipswich in Suffolk. There are three big bedrooms, (one is part of a suite) two of which have ensuite bathrooms and one which has its own bathroom along the corridor. A towelling bath robe is provided for guests to make the journey. There is also a self-catering ground floor garden flat with its own parking space. The garden is big and abundant and surrounded by lush farmland and mature trees. A great place to unwind in a lovely location.

See What They Say

Why do people love staying in your hotel?
They love the peace and tranquility; the comfortable, spacious rooms; the fact that they are staying in a historic 18th century house; the extensive gardens and grounds; the generous breakfasts sourced from local farms; the fact that they can bring their dogs; taking tea on the terrace in summer; sitting by roaring log fires in the winter.

What is there to do in the area?
The area is ideal for walkers, cyclists, antique lovers, art lovers. Constable country where John Constable painted his famous landscapes. Historic houses such as Kentwell Hall and Melford Hall. Castles at Framlingham and Orford. The cathedral city of Bury St Edmunds. The wool town of Lavenham with its array of ancient half-timbered houses. The heritage coast is a short drive away with attractions such as Sutton Hoo. The Viking Ship Exhibition, Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, Southwold and Woodbridge.

What kind of breakfast do you offer?
We offer either a Full English breakfast sourced from the best local farms or Continental breakfast with homemade bread and jams. Lashings of fresh orange juice and freshly ground coffee.

Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally?
We can provide home cooked evening meals by prior arrangement. Otherwise the local town of Hadleigh has some very good gastro pubs as do the local villages. There are also two good local hotels, Hintlesham Hall and The Stoke by Nayland Hotel and Country Club.

Which are your most popular room types, and why?
The Constable Suite is a large suite occupying the Master bedroom and sitting room with large en suite bathroom. The suite is beautifully furnished and has some fabulous views over the gardens and grounds. The Gainsborough Room is a large King size room with en suite bathroom overlooking the front garden.
